Audit Group is the audit and assurance arm of Jack Ross Chartered Accountants, one of Manchester’s longest-established accountancy practices. Jack Ross was founded in 1948 and has been providing audit, accounting and advisory services from the same city for over 75 years.
We created Audit Group to give our audit practice a clear identity. Audit is specialist work – it requires specific skills, sector knowledge and regulatory standards that are different from general accountancy. Having a dedicated brand lets us focus on what we do best.
What we do
We provide statutory audit, specialist audit and assurance services for businesses and organisations across the UK. Our clients include owner-managed companies, charities, solicitors’ practices, local authorities and UK subsidiaries of overseas parent companies.

- Advisory services – Internal controls, governance reviews and due diligence
Where we’re based
Our office is at Barnfield House, The Approach, Manchester M3 7BX. We’re a short walk from Salford Central station and within easy reach of the M60 and M62.
Most of our clients are in Greater Manchester and the North West, but we work with businesses across the UK. For audit work, our team travels to your premises – we don’t expect you to come to us.
Our approach
We’re a mid-size practice, which means you get something the larger firms struggle to offer: direct access to the people doing the work. Your audit partner isn’t a name on a letterhead – they’re the person who knows your business, answers your calls and makes decisions.
We believe audits should be useful, not just compliant. A good audit gives you confidence in your numbers, highlights risks you might have missed and helps you improve your financial controls. We aim to deliver all three, every time.
We also believe in being straight with people. If something’s wrong, we’ll tell you early and help you fix it. If you don’t need a service, we won’t try to sell it to you. That approach has kept clients with us for decades.
Regulation and standards
Audit Group is registered with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) for audit work. We follow International Standards on Auditing (UK) issued by the Financial Reporting Council (FRC) and are subject to regular quality monitoring by our professional body.
We carry professional indemnity insurance appropriate to the size and nature of our clients.
